Why do we need a Sustainable Development Policy?
As part of working towards a sustainable event, your team needs to agree a Sustainable Development Policy for the event. This policy forms the basis of what you want to achieve for the event in terms of sustainability - the environmental, social, ethical and economic impacts that you wish the event to have. This policy needs to be communicated to your event management team and stakeholders. To achieve certification to BSI8901 your event will need to have a sustaianble development policy.

This is your companies committment to deliver an event with social, ethical, environmental and economic factors in mind. To lower were possible any negative impacts and to allow for positive impacts following the event planning and delivery.
